On your own server, in a few minutes.

The free version is the whole product with two numbers turned down — one controller and four access points. Nothing is crippled, nothing is on a timer, and nothing about your network goes out of it: your data stays under your own supervision, inside your own domain, and nobody who is not signed in can switch it off. It installs onto an Ubuntu server you already run.

Download — coming soon
The build is being made available shortly. Leave your address through the form and we will let you know the moment it is here.
Want to see Vloka now? It is running at vloka.cooneit.com. Ask for a code through the form and we send you one, together with the current archive and its checksum.

What you need to run it

Your own Ubuntu server

Ubuntu Server LTS, on hardware or on a VM — whichever your organisation already runs and already patches. We do not ship an operating system: Ubuntu is free and one download from ubuntu.com, and an image from us would only be a second copy of it going stale.

What you get from here is Vloka itself, and the installer inside it sets up the service, its dependencies and the network tools it needs.

A path to the controller

Vloka talks to a Catalyst 9800 from the appliance's management interface. It needs an account on the controller — and it tells you on screen exactly what that account needs to be able to do, and what Vloka will and will not change with it.

Nothing outbound, except licensing

The only thing that ever leaves your network is the daily licence check to portal.vloka.nl, over HTTPS with certificate checking that cannot be switched off. Block it and everything keeps working.

What the free version is, precisely

  • One controller and four access points. Over four, it says so and keeps showing all of them — it does not hide anything and does not stop monitoring.
  • No KIDJO. The assistant is not in the free version. Everything else is.
  • No time limit. It does not stop working after a trial period, because there is no trial period.
  • No account needed to run it. The address on the form above is how we reach you; the only thing the appliance itself sends us is the licence check.

When you buy a licence, it is signed against the install ID your running appliance already shows you — you do not reinstall anything.
