The number is the limit.
A free version, two steps and then custom. You can check which one you need against your own access-point count without asking us — that is the whole reason the editions are named after the number rather than after a piece of Cisco hardware.

More than one controller, precisely
Up to four physical controllers on a paid edition. They fit together in three shapes, and Vloka monitors all of them — not only the one on screen:
- Four standalone controllers.
- Two HA (SSO) pairs — two times two boxes.
- One HA (SSO) pair and two standalone controllers.

- A pair is one entry, but two boxes. You register it once, on its single management address, and it still uses two of the four.
- A failover is not an outage. Vloka keeps the access points it already knows instead of reporting the switchover as one.
- You switch between them; Vloka watches all of them. The screens show the active controller. There is no merged view across two yet — no combined client list, no floor plan with access points from both. If you need that, say so: it is not built.
- Over the four, nothing is switched off. Every controller already registered keeps being monitored; what stops is adding another one.
How a licence works
A licence names one appliance. The install ID is the MAC address of that appliance's management interface, so you can check it against your own hypervisor and against the paperwork — it is not a number we invented and asked you to trust.
You can activate online with an enrolment token, or upload the licence file by hand. Both routes end in the same place, and the offline one is not a degraded fallback.
What your licence says
- On whose name it was issued.
- The install ID — so which appliance it is for.
- The edition and the number of access points it covers.
- Up to when the licence runs, and up to when third-line support runs — two dates, kept apart.
- Whether KIDJO·AI6 is included.
All of it is on the appliance's own Licence page, so nobody has to look it up during an incident.
From the free version to a paid one
It is the same appliance. You put the licence on the one you are already running — nothing is reinstalled, and what it has already measured stays where it is.
What happens at the limits, exactly
These are the rules the software actually enforces. They are written here because they are unusual, and because the usual behaviour is the thing people are afraid of.
Over the access-point limit
Vloka says so, and keeps showing every access point. It does not hide them and it does not stop monitoring them.
When a paid licence expires
We do not interrupt how Vloka works: what is running keeps running. You are warned 45 days before the date and it keeps working for 30 days after it; then the licence becomes the free one — at most 4 access points and 1 controller. If an access point or controller drops out after that, Vloka does not have the licence rights to accept it.
When the portal is unreachable
Your appliance keeps running on the licence it already holds, offline, indefinitely. Failing to check in changes nothing.
Third-line support
One year is included with the purchase. You can buy more, up to the term of your licence: with a three-year licence another two, with a five-year licence another four. Extending is possible at any time and covers incidents that arise after the extension date.
When it ends the software is untouched. You can still call us in, at the hourly rate that applies at that moment, plus any travel costs.
